Stop 5 Travel Log | Asheville, NC

After the intensity of Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway, I headed to the Biltmore Estate to enjoy the zen of the outdoors. The Biltmore is absolutely gorgeous, an 8,000 acre wilderness escape from the everyday set against the mountains of Asheville, NC. Nature at its best. I drove the backroads of the estate to the Sporting Clays Course. This is the first time I took the Boxster off pavement, and I have to say, I was pretty surprised at how well it handled.

I met up with Darren Moore, Swat Bomb Technician and Biltmore’s Sporting Clay Expert for the last few years. Talk about a guy who has a perfect shot; he hit every single clay he sent up. It was beginner’s luck for me. I hit my first clay without any trouble and then completely missed the next 6 or 7. Darren helped me adjust my technique and stressed the importance of a calm, mental state in order to shoot accurately and achieve ultimate precision.
